Description

The Backup Service provides automated backup of files and data bases to local or remote data storage. IT Vertica offers flexible configuration according to customer requirements. IT Vertica consults the customer to choose either open source backup solution or commercial backup product.

 

Backup Restore Service technical details:

  • Encrypted VPN channel for secure transfer of files - data is protected during transfer
  • Backup will run automatically in selected time interval. For instance, back up is performed off business hours from 10 pm to 7 am (22:00 to 7:00).
  • Daily backup of changed files
  • Scheduled automated backup for Databases
  • Deduplication backup algorithm for transferring the data on slow internet connection
  • Restoring of files from version 30 or more days older
  • Storing of backed up files do not expire automatically. The new file versions replace the older. For example when customer server is down for 30 days (or more) archived files will be kept and will not dissapear from the restore interface.
  • Restoring files via https web interface accessible worldwide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

  • Monitoring 24x7 for successful backup completion
  • Sending automatic e-mail notification when backup fails. The notification indicates issue with the computer, local network, internet or other
